Evolution Liam Dacey, a 2004 graduate of University of Notre Dame (UND), one of the nation’s preeminent Catholic institutions, took steps to transfer after coming out his sophomore year, but changed his mind and instead became an advocate for LGBTQ visibility and acceptance on campus. This academic year, 575 students are being supported.

Your belief was well-founded, as in 2004, I was selected as an astronaut. When I became an astronaut in 2004, I realized I’d become an instant role model, and I embraced that role. I was even honored with the TRIO Achiever Award in 2001, before my astronaut selection.
