Added to the work-from-home ethos is a changing culture as younger generations move into senior leadership positions. In-person relationships are being displaced by virtual engagement.

“We have supported Latinx faculty in continuing professional development through HACU (Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities),” says CSULB President Dr. Jane Close Conoley. “We We offer faculty workshops on culturally sensitive teaching.” In 2023, over half (56%) of the students were Latino, compared to 36% in 2010.
