Since 2015, Stout has served as president and CEO of Achieving the Dream (ATD), a network of over 300 community colleges, with the goal of being accessible hubs of learning, credentialing and economic mobility that eliminate inequities in educational and workforce outcomes.
Attrition was seen as driven by student inaction, and advisors began launching focused outreach campaigns targeted at unregistered students with the goal of removing their administrative and financial barriers and securing registration. Soon, measuring student success could include metrics related to mental and emotional well-being.
