As for students who didn’t file their FAFSA, many of these students may be first-generation or low-income students who need more support to make it to the first day of classes.

Its application was rejected because it used one-and-a-half spacing instead of double spacing in the text within graphics on two of its 65 application pages. Students and, for those who are dependents, their parents, fill it out and submit it to the ED. The FAFSA eligibility calculation did not account for inflation from 2020 to 2023, which was 18%, so many students were incorrectly considered ineligible. Students eligible for Pell Grants have been denied because they are dependents.
