Completion Grants. We've recently distilled some of our learning into three UIA playbooks that we invite you to download for free. Between 2016 and 2020, the UIA conducted a randomized control trial study of proactive, predictive analytics-enabled advising for first-generation and Pell-eligible students across 11 campuses.
Through completion grants and hold reform, they removed the obstacles that hindered students' progress and enabled them to succeed. Generate Quick Wins By piloting completion grants and initiating hold reform, UWM achieved quick wins that demonstrated the effectiveness of their approach.

Among first-generation college students and those in underrepresented groups, students earning a CLEP score of 50 or higher on exams have significantly higher retention and graduation rates than other students. However, each college that accepts CLEP exams sets its own minimum exam scores for granting credit hours.
