Society needs professionals trained to understand this modern landscape and how it impacts their lives and careers. Many, if not most, of our students will be working in a field impacted by data and its quantitative, computational analysis.

But many people don’t trust automatically. They wait to see if someone is trustworthy. So instead of asking yourself what you might have done to lose a person’s trust a better question might be, what have you done to earn it.

The Advisor That Cares

The concept of data-driven analytics and decision-making appeals to me very much. As advisors, we often run from one fire/crisis to another. Stepping into a leadership role in an advising office makes me reflect on the whirlwind discussed during the Four Disciplines of Execution (McChesney & Huling, 2012) in the Organizational Change course (EDLD 5304).
