We and many others have written about how Black males are the most disenfranchised students in our nation’s schools. Schools as a mirror of society are often hostile to Black males. With this in mind, we (Hines and Fletcher) compiled the collection of readings by prominent scholars, as described herein. Dr. Erik M. When I was a whole bunch younger I jumped out of a perfectly functioning airplane. It wasn’t exactly by choice, I went to a military school and it was just part of the deal. When they said jump you jumped. But I did learn this little known fact: you do not need a parachute to jump out of an airplane. You can just pop the door open and jump. In fact, it’s actually quicker to get to the ground without a parachute.
