The number of academic credits a student takes per year has ties to their likelihood to graduate and complete their college journey, a new report from course scheduling company Ad Astra found. Sarah Collins Ad Astra’s 2024 Benchmark Report – released on Feb. 20 – dives into data from its partner institutions to look at potential relationships between access to courses, credits taken per school year, and college completion.

Higher Ed Institutions Garner $58B Through Philanthropy in FY23

Although this represents a 2.5 percent decline from the record high reported in 2022, it demonstrates continued significant philanthropic support to the important higher education sector. The annual survey results were released today by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in a research brief.

Today, the Biden-Harris Administration announced that nearly 153,000 borrowers enrolled in the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan are getting their loans canceled thanks to early implementation of the shortened time to forgiveness component of the new repayment plan. We previously wrote about this issue in our January blog post , but the first round of borrowers eligible for cancellation will now officially receive the good news that their loan balances have been wiped out.
