The social media landscape thrives on separation, making it harder for students to maintain focus amid a flood of emotionally charged content. Black students, many of whom already face barriers to academic success, report additional strain from online interactions. While the challenges are significant, solutions are within reach.
Yet, one critical skill is often overlookedfinancial literacy. For students navigating newfound independence, financial understanding can mean the difference between thriving in college and struggling to stay afloat. Financial literacy is more than knowing what a credit card is or how interest rates work.

Nationwide, millions of students have the options of seeking certifications, improving workforce training, experiencing dual enrollment, completing a two-year associate’s degree, saving money doing general coursework before transferring to a four-year college or university, or, in some cases, even completing a bachelor’s degree.
